If you are a visitor and wondering what membership at FPC might look like, this is the class for you. Here we look at what we believe as Presbyterians and what our church looks like from the inside out. The class lasts around 8-10 weeks and those who attend are given the opportunity to join if they desire. This is a great place to come "check us out".
Cravings
A monthly ladies’ luncheon and book review, Cravings is well-known in Jackson County for feeding body and soul each month at First Pres. Under the leadership of Maura Whitlock, ladies are served a delicious lunch for $8 and hear a review of the month’s book of choice. Please call the church office at 228-762-2824 for reservations. Women’s Circle
The FPC women’s circle meets on the second Tuesday of each month at noon. Contact the church office for more information.
Monday Morning Prayer Group
The prayer group meets each Monday at 9:00 am to pray for our church and prayer needs in our community.
Cursillo
Cursillo is a three day weekend retreat filled with short talks, music, fellowship, small group discussion, and joyful experiences - but there is so much more! The weekends, offered at no cost to the participant, are sponsored and led by lay men and women with the participation and spiritual guidance of ordained Presbyterian ministers. The Cursillo experience is about living the Christian life everyday; it is not just about a weekend - it is intended to last a lifetime. Presbyterian Cursillo is a vital and exciting resource for renewal, and Presbyterian men and women are encouraged to participate no matter where they are in their faith journey.
