LATEST CHURCH RESPONSE TO COVID-19 OUTBREAK

Dear Church Family,

I’m sure many of you have heard by now that we will be returning to in-house worship this coming Sunday, August 9th. This was a decision that was agreed on by the Session and was not done without carefully weighing the risks and options that lie before us. With students returning to school and many of you returning to some form or fashion of a normal life we felt it was important for us to be gathered again for community in worship. I know that this won’t be a decision that is shared by all and we have carefully weighed that as well, and we do not take that lightly. Please be assured that we will take every precaution we can to make this as safe an environment as possible for you to return to worship. With that in mind, I also want to affirm those who may not feel safe or that this is a good option for them. We will continue to livestream our 9:00am worship service as we have been doing over the past few months so that you might be able to participate at home. Below you will find a list of the details that we discussed and agreed on in our July Session meeting. Please note that these are necessary to keep everyone safe.

  • We will be offering a 9:00am Contemporary service and an 11:00am Traditional service at the church.

  • Masks will be required for all attendees throughout your time in the church.

  • Each service will be capped at 70 people and you will need to sign up online like we did the last time that we gathered. Access to the link is here (WORSHIP SIGN UP). Simply log on and sign up. Once registration is full all others will be invited to join us online for worship.

  • When you arrive you will be ushered to your pre-assigned seats and following the service, we will ask that you exit as instructed from the worship leaders.

  • There will be no Sunday School.

  • There will be no childcare.

  • There will be no breakfast served in the 9:00am service nor Cookies on the Lawn following the 11:00am service.

  • The 11:00am service will not be livestreamed as we do not have the technological capabilities for this in the sanctuary.

If for whatever reason you don’t feel safe coming to the church for worship or have a pre-existing condition that would put you at a higher health risk we strongly encourage you to stay home and join us online. This is not an issue of one being more spiritual than the other…it is simply an issue of safety and comfort. Please know that I have been praying for each of you daily and trust that the Lord is continuing to do his good work both in you and in this church even as we have been apart. If you have any questions or would like to talk about the Session’s decisions, please do not hesitate to call the church and speak to Jason or myself.

Blessings,

Pastor Matt and the Session
